The 27-year-old Jones played in eight games for the Niners last season, catching one pass for 18 yards. He missed the first half of the season with a slight fracture in his right shoulder, an injury he suffered in a preseason practice.

The Oklahoma product had spent his first four NFL seasons with the Tennessee Titans, who selected him in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft.

For his career, Jones has 113 catches for 1,398 yards and nine touchdowns.
