Bosh-less Raptors host Celtics

Basketball Betting Lines

04/07/2010 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Toronto Raptors lost more than just the game last night in Cleveland and may be without All-Star center Chris Bosh for some time. Tonight they'll try to regroup at home versus the Boston Celtics.

Bosh suffered a fracture to the right side of his face during Tuesday's 113-101 loss to the Cavaliers after taking an inadvertent elbow to the face by Cleveland forward Antawn Jamison. Bosh was forced to leave the contest bleeding from his nose and mouth just 2:08 into the game. He headed to the Cleveland Clinic for a CT scan and remained overnight for an evaluation.

The Georgia Tech product leads the Raptors with 24.0 ppg and is not expected to play Wednesday versus the Celtics. In last night's loss at Quicken Loans Arena, Jarrett Jack had 23 points and Amir Johnson netted 16 for the Raptors, who are just a game ahead of Chicago for the eighth and final postseason berth in the Eastern Conference and three games behind No. 7 seed Charlotte.

"There's not a lot we can do," Raptors coach Jay Triano said of losing Bosh. "We've still got to play and we'll have to make adjustments on the fly and we'll have to make an adjustment if he's not available for tomorrow and be ready to play against Boston at home. There's not much we can do."

Toronto, which has lost two straight and five of eight games, is 24-14 at Air Canada Centre this season.

Boston has slipped up a bit with four losses in its last five games, including a 104-101 setback at New York's Madison Square Garden. Ray Allen finished with 17 points, Kendrick Perkins chipped in 14 and eight rebounds and Kevin Garnett scored 14 points for the Celtics, who are a game behind Atlanta for the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference.

"You let a team go out there and shoot 50 percent and you don't rebound, that's going to be an uphill battle all night. That's what it was," said Celtics top scorer Paul Pierce, who had 13 points in defeat.

Glen Davis tallied 12 points in a losing effort. The Celtics are 24-14 away from Beantown this season.

Boston is aiming for its second straight series sweep of Toronto this evening and has won the first three encounters in 2009-10. The Celtics have won seven straight, 11 of 12 and 20 of the last 26 matchups between the teams.

The Celtics are unbeaten in their last five trips up north.

NFL Football Betting : Odds on NFL Division to Win the Super Bowl

NFL Super Bowl Betting

The AFC South and the NFC East are the favorite divisions to have the next Super Bowl champ among them in the NFL betting odds. But more down to the point, these football odds are in favor of the Indianapolis Colts, by far the strongest team in the AFC South, and the Dallas Cowboys of the NFC East.

Most sports fans would agree that these two teams top the list to win it all before the season even begins. In the BetUS Sportsbook football futures, the Colts are +800 in the odds to win the Super Bowl, while the Cowboys are sitting at +1000 and the Super Bowl XLIV champions New Orleans Saints at +900. In the AFC South, the Colts won the division for five straight years after the 2002 realignment, before the Tennessee Titans won it in 2008. But the Colts came back strong in 2009 to win the division again en route to the Super Bowl. The Cowboys are the favorite to win the NFC East, as well as to advance far into the post season. The Cowboys won the division last season before their horrendous loss in the NFC Divisional playoff to Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings. But the ‘Boys will take that loss humbly and be ready for the playoffs this time around.

The NFC South is also very strong, at +600 in the NFL futures, considering that it is home to the defending Super Bowl champions. However, some predictions have the Atlanta Falcons with possibilities of claiming the divisional title this season in place of the Saints, as no team has won back-to-back division championships since the division realignment took place. Let’s not overlook the AFC North at +500. As TO goes to Cincinnati to join Chad OchoCinco and Adam “Pac-Man” Jones, this team looks to claim the division title again. And it is likely they will do so. The Bengals lost in the AFC Wild Card spot in a hard-fought battle against the New York Jets last season. Lest not forget the Pittsburgh Steelers, the XLII Super Bowl Champions… All these teams present interesting odds and matchups for the upcoming season, but the safest and surest bet seems to be with the Colts in the AFC South and the Cowboys in the NFC East.
