Werth posted National League highs of four home runs and 25 total bases, and finished second in the Senior Circuit with four doubles and nine RBI. The 30- year-old hit .360 during the week, also compiling a .407 on-base percentage.

His best performance of the week came in last Thursday's 7-2 win over the Cardinals, when he went 3-for-4 with a homer, two doubles and three runs batted in.

Other nominees this past week included Giants outfielder Aaron Rowand, Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethier, Washington relief pitcher Matt Capps and Phillies starter Jamie Moyer.

American Idol Betting Odds: Season 6

Paul Kim has caught our own roving reporter, Jenny Woo's eyes.
