Seahawks trade Lawrence Jackson to Lions

08/18/2010 - Renton, WA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Seattle Seahawks have traded defensive end Lawrence Jackson to the Detroit Lions in exchange for an undisclosed pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Jackson was selected by the Seahawks with the 28th overall pick of the 2008 draft. He started 24 of the 31 games he played for Seattle and compiled 61 tackles, including 49 solo, with 6 1/2 sacks.

"Detroit showed strong interest in Lawrence and this provides him an opportunity to move forward while he is still early in his career," said Seahawks general manager John Schneider. "We want to thank Lawrence for all of his hard work that he has put in for the Seahawks organization over the last several months that coach Carroll and I have been here. We wish him the best."

Jackson posted a career-high 4 1/2 sacks in 2009.
