06/30/2010 - Newark, NJ (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The New Jersey Devils have re-signed right winger David Clarkson to a multi-year contract.

According to the New York Post, the new deal will pay the 26-year-old Clarkson $8 million over three years.

Clarkson had his 2009-10 campaign interrupted by a broken leg that he sustained blocking a shot from Boston's Zdeno Chara on November 27.

The Ontario native finished with 11 goals and 13 assists in 46 games for the Devils. He was held pointless in five playoff games as the Atlantic Division champs were eliminated in the first round by Philadelphia.

Clarkson has registered 40 goals and 42 assists in 216 career games, all with New Jersey.

He was set to become a restricted free agent on Thursday.
